  • Freshly roasted coffee naturally releases carbon dioxide. Coffee pouch/ bags have one-way valves to vent gas and trapped air while preventing external air from entering the bag. This degassing valve allows to package coffee at the peak of flavour immediately following the roasting process. An inner aluminium layer provides added protection from moisture and oxygen. Pouch/bags can be closed with a heat sealer, re-sealable tape, or a double wire, adhesive tin tie.
  • Retort pouches or microwaveable pouches are a flexible or semi-rigid package made from heat-resistant laminated plastic, into which food products are placed, sealed and sterilized at temperatures up to 121°C. The resulting product is then sterile and shelf-stable. The retort pouch has been developed as an alternative to metal and glass for packaging of processed food products. Retort pouches are used in several countries for a wide range of processed ready-to-serve shelf-stable muscle-based products, such as solid meat packs, beef curry or stew, meatballs in tomato sauce, sauces and soups etc. Laminate films used for retort pouch manufacture vary depending upon their specific application. The materials must be inert, heat sealable, dimensionally stable and heat resistant (usually 115°C–125°C). They should have low oxygen and water-vapour permeability and be physically strong to resist penetration by the foodstuff contained and abuse during handling and storage. There are two main types of pouches: gusseted and pillow packs. Pouches are made from either aluminium foil-based plastic laminates or foil-free plastic laminate films, which are suitable for microwave heating. Most pouches are either three- or four-ply (layer) laminates with an inner food contact heat-seal layer. Adhesives with a polyurethane-base between the layers of film hold the laminates together. The outer polyester layer is heat resistant and provides an area for logo printing, often reverse printing. In aluminium foil-free pouches the product is visible and microwaveable.
  • Flat bottom pouches are the newest type of pouch in the market. It has many names: the quad seal bottom pouch, block-bottom pouch. The pouch is welded in four corners and have a completely flat bottom so it stands very well. Flat-bottom bags can hold more, meaning you can save 15% of packaging materials because of their unique design. They also save shelf in the supermarket because the bags are high and the width is less than an equivalent size of traditional pouch. This type of pouch can save money for the manufacturer because they pay less for shelf space to the supermarket. You can also get one-way valve on these bags to match for roasted coffee. It is possible to obtain materials with aluminium laminates for high barrier. There is also the possibility of windows in the bags. These pouches are used to pack animal feed, organic products, chocolate, powder, spices, muesli, biscuits, tea etc. Materials for every application: Matte Finish Foil Pouch - MBOPP /PET / ALU / LLDPE Standard Foil Pouch - PET / ALU / LLDPE Kraft Foil Pouch - KRAFT / ALU / LLDPE.
